Comments received via email and letters regarding our ONHS Homecoming Makeover event:
Dear Denise,
Nice article in the KC Star. That's a great program you and Diane have begun, and it's gratifying that you received such positive (and extensive) coverage in the paper. That should garner more support for further similar efforts.
Give my best to Diane.

Could I just hug you through the computer? I wanted to hug you this morning, but knew I would start crying. Denise, the project that you facilitated for Homecoming made that night so special for so many young ladies. In addition, you brought positive recognition to North and it was recognition for who we really are -- a school who cares about students in more ways than just test scores. More people are talking about North right now, and in a positive way, because of the service project of the Round Robins. Please thank the Round Robins and Diane for me. They helped to make some dreams come true for some very deserving young ladies. Everyone deserves to be a Princess at some time during high school.
Thank you for making that dream come true for our Eagle ladies.

I was so proud to read the article regarding your project which the Star labeled appropriately, "Princess for a Day." The article was touching but reflected a genuine effort by a group of women to meet the needs of young ladies. Because it was done in a practical manner yet fun and special, it dignified the whole effort and the girls who participated. Please extend my appreciation to Diane Owen and the Round Robins as well. You are an important part of why Olathe North is such a special place for students to learn and grow into young adults. I hope this project can continue in the future.

Ladies,
I justed wanted to let all of you know how grateful I am for you and
your services at Olathe North today. You completely gave up an entire
Saturday to help out some girls that will never forget your generosity.
I know I won't! I truly appreciate all you did for our students. What
a great gift and memory you gave to each and every one of them! Plus,
we had a great time. However, I may not be able to walk tomorrow as my
back is a little achy and if I never see another foot again that would
okay by me. Just kidding.
Sincerely,
Denise Herman
P.S.--Remember: The best portion of a good man's life - his little,
nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love. - William Wordsworth
I don't feel your acts today were little or nameless, but they were sure
out of kindness and love and will be remembered!

I read the article in the KC Star about your program to help girls attend homecoming at Olathe North. I have 5-6 dresses from our daughters that I have been looking for some where to donate them. I know I missed this year's homecoming but if you are still collecting dresses for future events I would like to donate them. I live in Lenexa and can deliver them. Thanks for what you are doing fot the girsl!

Your dress reuse idea is great - I have read about this
elsewhere and love that you do it here. If you hear of anyone doing this in
the Leavenworth/Lansing area I have dresses to donate. Of course, if
the none pop up, I can donate them elsewhere. After having two girls
go thru HS - similar in size but not taste, you can imagine that i have
a closet full of dresses. Please feel free to call for them.
Thanks. Great Job and have fun!

I am not an event planner, I am an RN, however, I would like
to donate some formal gowns that are beautiful that someone could use
for a prom, like the one in today's KC Star. If you would like them ,
let me know. Some still have price tags on them.

Re: Saturday's article in FYI.
I am a seamtress and do alterations too.
My interest in your group is to provide my time to sewing or
alterations projects.
I would like to donate my time to help girls that doesn't have the
means to buy a gown, or for a special occasion.
I am also handicapped and have to work only at home.
I appreciate all your group is doing to make this world a beteer place
to live and enjoy beauty.

Wow, what a great thing you all are doing. It is excellent that you are doing this for people who would not otherwise have a chance. It reminds me of the way Olathe use to be before we had 4 high schools and over a 100,000 people. People would just do things for others without asking. You are carrying on that Eagle Pride!!!! I applaud you for your efforts and please let me know where I can send you a donation. I know several times you may need some cash to fill in the loose ends. If you need a "males" volunteer services. Please let me know and I would be glad to help. Again, let me know where to send a donation and I wish you both the very best.
